Summary of Role
The Lab Equipment Technician is accountable for driving results in a fast-paced environment as a lab equipment repair technician, responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing various laboratory equipment, including but not limited to, analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, UPLC, ICP and other specialized devices, by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, equipment calibrations, equipment qualifications, and coordinating with external vendors for complex repairs when necessary, ensuring the proper functionality and accuracy of lab equipment for research and testing purposes. All aspects of the role are to be accomplished with safety and quality in mind.

Your Responsibilities
- Regularly inspect and service laboratory equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns, including cleaning, lubrication, and calibration checks. Organize/prioritize by order of importance---most important first.
- Diagnose malfunctions in lab equipment by analysing error codes, symptoms, and technical specifications, then perform necessary repairs or component replacements. Review for repetition/redundancies.
- Performs annual PM/OQs activities on key lab equipment.
- Accurately calibrate lab equipment to ensure precise measurements and data integrity according to established standards and procedures.
- Provide technical assistance to lab personnel regarding equipment operation, troubleshooting basic issues, and proper usage.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and components needed for repairs, coordinating with vendors to order replacements when necessary.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, calibration data, and equipment history.
- Adhere to safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and quality standards related to laboratory equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ensures timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.

- High School or equivalent education required, secondary associates or BS preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a lab equipment technician.
- Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) or comparable certification preferred.
